A Farewell to the Tajik Delegation : 6/21/10
On Monday, June 21st, about 35 people attended and bid farewell to our friends from Tajikistan during a dinner and presentation at the Nationwide and Ohio Farm Bureau.
After a wonderful dinner, the delegation on Tajikistan gave a presentation full of interesting facts on their country. The presentation included a discussion on the country’s history, culture, and religion. The delegation also showed pictures of universities, government buildings, and the beautiful mountains that cover over 90% of the country.
Through the help of a translator, guests were able to ask questions about the government and religious state of Tajikistan. The questions concluded with each member of the delegation naming and explaining their current professions.
As the night finished up, the delegation thanked and gave a thoughtful gift (a plate adorned with a map of Tajikistan) to their host. We have enjoyed their company over the past three weeks and hope they enjoyed their experience here in Columbus as well.
